What has happened to us? If we went back in time, even a couple of decades, the hair care, or personal hygiene product choices were minimal, were people less “clean” or “attractive”, I don’t think so, they obviously kept breeding, right?
What is the reason for the multitude of these products, each with some sort of “special” something, that makes them better than the other gazillion products that do basically the same thing? Have we gotten so vain? Personally, I always get the cheapest store brand, but I have seen people pay $10 for a “designer”, “professional” or “salon quality”product , when they could have gotten the generic for $2, why do they do that?
I admit, I have some sort of dry skin problem that has appeared in the last few years, old age I guess, therefore, looking for a solution, I tried a few of these myself, but there was really no difference, yes the pricier stuff smelled better, the bottle looked better, but it was the same thing as the cheap stuff as far as results, why did I even try these expensive products? I guess, vanity? I often wear black t-shirts, and this dry skin all over my shirt shows up like dandruff on steroids, I want to look better I guess? If you ever get a problem like this, shampoo at any price won’t help, baby oil does though.
Anyway, are we all so consumed by our appearance? As in my example, special situations will drive us to look for an answer, and trust me, there are tons of products out there claiming to fix it, just ask yourself, “do I really need this, or is this just vanity”? Did I get sold by a TV commercial showing pretty girls attacking some guy because he used that “designer” product, I do I just want to brag that I spend more on my shampoo than you do on your entire wardrobe? Is there really a benefit, or is it just vanity?
Now, apply this to politics, do we need a “pretty”, “designer” president? What about a down to earth kind of person, that is maybe not so, “pretty”? Are we like the rich Hollywood girls with the pet dogs they carry around? Do we need a “special” breed of president, or one that gets the job done, and upholds the constitution? Lets save America from our vanity, keep it simple, keep it conservative, keep our Constitution, keep God and Jesus! Teach our kids we can make a mistake, then admit it, vote Obama out, don’t vote for Romney because somebody says he looks “presidential”, and don’t fall for anybody’s line of BS, including mine, learn about the candidates now, so you are not in the voting booth remembering which one is which, know what you are going to do before you get there!
