Congressman Michael McCaul Reads the bill!

I have to admit, I feel lucky living where I do in Texas, I feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t live in Texas! From what I have read, and this video, I feel ok about my congressman, Michael McCaul, I hope this doesn’t ever change. I have not heard anything about the Republican bill, but I would be willing to bet it is better than the mess from the Democrats, thats not saying much, my cat could come up with something better than Pelosi and her bunch, I just can’t figure out who would ever vote for someone like that crew! Anyway, check out the video, its nothing earth shattering, but he is at least on tape as opposing Pelosi!

Why did Texas refuse money from FedZilla?

rickperry1 Why did Texas refuse money from FedZilla? Why did Texas tell Fedzilla thanks, but, no thanks? As it is, from my perspective, here in Texas, the polititians that you never hear about, are, invisible, because if you don’t hear any loud exchanges, there is no media coverage.

This is just wrong! I want everyone to know that I am not the only one that does not want anything from FedZilla except for what it is supposed to provide, as in The Constitution. Texas Governor, Rick Perry has declined the money from that Porkulus bill, why? Here is an excerpt from a video, found on the Governors website. (note that I would have the video here but it is not embeddable)

After careful review of the federal government’s stimulus package, Gov. Perry opted against the required expansion of the state’s unemployment insurance program, due to its long-term negative impact on the Texas economy

Here is a link to the site so that you can hear it yourself, there are also other audio messages that you can listen to. I am sorry that the rest of the world is having problems, but, if you visit Texas, you will not see the same issues, things are pretty good here actually, I am proud of Governor Perry for having the intelligence, and the guts, to Just Say No!

I am hoping to see him show up at one of the Tea Parties in Texas on April 15th, but I doubt that he will, although, that would be a fantastic political move for the next election! I have a feeling that the next elections are going to bring “Real” and drastic changes to our government, because from the signs at the tea parties, and all of the talk at The912Project.com, I can hardly wait!

What will Obamas Socialist Plans Cost Us? Cap and Trade?

March 30, 2009 by OpinionHead

When Obama talks, people listen, or do they? So often, when Obamas lips are flapping, all he is doing is emitting hot air (talk about greenhouse gases)! Now we all know about his teleprompter, isn’t it time to start “hearing” what he is actually saying?

This video is perfect for what I am trying to say, why, because there is no video, it is just audio and a still picture! Why is this so perfect, you may be wondering, because you can read and listen at the same time!

If you notice, this was recorded way before he became President, he mentions that this could come up in the “general elections”, and basically was saying “hey, I can say whatever I want, I can tell you that your light bill is going to skyrocket, I can tell you that, because I can sell it” , if you weren’t paying attention then, maybe you will now!

Now to the issues:

What is “Cap and Trade”? This is a term used to define one of those “Green”  beliefs, that you put a cap, a limit, on the “greenhouse gas” emissions and trade by pushing a green agenda through, that will ultimately result in using less of what ever it was that they put the cap on!

Sticking with electricity production as the bad guy, the one that needs to be capped, what Obama wants to do, is make the power producers spend a ton of cash, or, go deep in debt, to create a “greener” method for this production, in other words, “lets make them (energy producers) spend so much, and pass on that debt, that Americans will go broke just trying to pay their light bill”! Hey, what population is going to rise up and defend itself from big government spending, and a dictatorial take over, if they can’t even pay their light bill?

The good news is, inthe long run, after all of the poor and old people have died off from exposure to heat and cold, the younger generations that survive, will be used to paying over 50 cents a KW (kilowatt) for electricity, and will have developed new technology that uses less energy! Can you see where this is headed?

Obama is not even considering the “now” all he is doing is planning for the society that may or may not survive!

I know this sounds a bit crazy, right now, but wait a few years, if it even takes that long. Think about this, what are you currently paying for a KW of electricity? Think about this one real good, remember when gas prices went from 15 cents a gallon to a dollar? I do! That was when I was a kid cutting grass, I got paid a quarter, bought a gallon of gas, a candy bar, and a soda! Then, I got my first truck, paid 35 cents a gallon to fill it up, the first time, the second time it was 75 cents a gallon, and the third was over a dollar! That is the way electricity will be!

Once Obama gets his “cap and trade” plans shoved down our throats, like he did, porkulus, and the other stuff, it will not take long! We all now that it costs money to produce electricity. It is a simple matter of converting one form of energy into another, be it coal, natural gas, or nuclear ( the clean one), which ever, that fuel and the technology to process it, is where the big changes will come.

What was it, about six years ago, I paid (In Houston, Texas) about 10 cents a KW (once all of the taxes and fees were added), to about 15 cents, that is when I moved up here to the sticks. A buddy of mine, in Houston, tells me that he is paying over 20 cents a KW now. Here, things went from about 6 or 7 cents per KW to over 10 cents per KW, during that same time. So, what happens next? Have you ever looked at a utility, phone, lights, gas, cable, what ever bill? See all of those little taxes and fees?

Once this “Cap and Trade” crap becomes a reality, that list of fees and taxes will definitely change, not to mention the rates themselves!

Follow this link, and you will see a list of “green” terms, one of them I will Illustrate as an example of how insane these “green” or “global warming” Al Gore freaks are!

blacksurfing
Blacksurfing is surfing search engine results using an inverted palette, with white text on a black body. Shifting a high traffic website, like Google, from a white background to a black background can save substantial energy. An all-white web page uses about 74 watts to display on a CRT monitor as compared to an all-black page that uses only 59 watts. See Blackle, an energy-saving search engine that uses Google’s custom search. The efficacy of this practice is hotly debated, so be sure to consult Mark Ontkush’s post on the topic before you suggest using it. (ecoIron)

Once we allow the government to take over our lives, and control everything, it will be too late! This article is about just one of the many things that our government wants to do to us, “for our own good” because we are too stupid to see that we are being put under the control of a “socialist” system, at best, and I would hate to even think of what the worst could be, but, I can say this, there are a lot of similarities of what is happenning now, and what happened when Adolf  Hitler took over, and he was a very popular guy too! So, take action now, visit the912project.com and get involved, We the People are not alone, we can do something about this!

An email from my Congressman: Michael McCaul

Dear Friends,

The President has said that digging our way out of this economic crisis won’t be easy and will take time.  While we can agree on the scope of this challenge and the effort it will take to recover, the Republican budget plan will move Americans toward prosperity without spending record amounts of taxpayer dollars and without increasing the tax burden on families and businesses.

Today, our $11 trillion deficit places a burden of $36,000 on every American.  Under the President’s budget, in ten years, our per-person debt will climb above $50,000.  We cannot spend, borrow and tax our way to prosperity.  We cannot pass a budget that will dig a deeper financial hole and impede our country’s long-term progress.  Our plan will balance re-instituting the basic principles of limited government and personal responsibility, with meeting our most critical needs.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce presented me with the prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award for my continued support of pro-growth legislation during the last session of Congress. I am proud to have received this award for the fourth consecutive year because businesses are the economic engine of this great nation and I am committed to creating a positive pro-growth environment.  Especially during a recession our priority should be to help businesses succeed by ensuring reasonable tax burdens and responsible regulations that won’t stifle job creation.  I am proud to represent small business across District 10.

Omnibus Lands Bill

On Wednesday, the House passed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act.  This bill contains more than 170 separate natural resources bills—more than 100 of which had not been considered in the House—that create new, federally sheltered wilderness areas, wild and scenic rivers, and heritage areas.  The bill also included land exchanges, ocean exploration, local water projects, landscape restoration, and underwater research, among a variety of other programs.  The 1,248-page bill was estimated to cost over $10 billion and prohibited natural resource exploration development on millions of acres of land acres.  The legislation passed the Senate on March 19, 2009, and will now be sent to the President for his signature

I wish you and your family a happy and safe weekend.

FLAME Act

On Thursday, the House passed H.R. 1404, the Federal Land Assistance, Management and Enhancement Act.  The bill establishes a Federal Land Assistance, Management, and Enhancement (FLAME) Fund within the U.S. Treasury.  The FLAME Fund would be used to pay for emergency catastrophic wildfire suppression.  This would be separate from amounts annually appropriated to the Departments of Agriculture and Interior for wildfire suppression.  The bill also directs the Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior to develop a cohesive wildland fire management strategy within one year.  H.R. 1404 establishes a grant program within the Departments of Agriculture and Interior to help communities carry out wildfire education programs, firefighter training, and equipment acquisition. I joined 412 of my colleagues to vote yes and pass this important legislation.

1900 Percent Beer Tax: The Democrats have gone crazy!

February 18, 2009 by OpinionHead

roguedeadguy6pack 1900 Percent Beer Tax: The Democrats have gone crazy! When I heard this, I thought I was going to hear a punchline, but no, this is for real! The Democrats in Oregon are trying to get a bill passed that would increase the tax on a barrel of beer (that is two kegs for you and me) from $2.60 to $49.61, this could add as much as $2-$4 per six pack! Some of my favorite beer comes from Oregon, and no, this would not effect me here in Texas, where we already pay high beer taxes, but, it would cause big layoffs or basically the shutdown of these small breweries, that is just wrong!

The reason they want to do this is to raise money for the treatment of drugs and alcoholism! Now, this just doesn’t make sense, give the drunks free beer it would be ok then! As far as the drugs go, I hear that some of the best weed comes from Oregon, say they are already covered! My point is, we all need to start watching the government very closely, since Obama got elected, the Democrats are going nuts! If you want to read more on this, read this article, “Outrage brewing over proposed 1,900% beer tax hike“.

As it is, the Lefties have already taken corn away from us to make fuel, corn which is used in many beers (not the good ones like Rogue) that you buy, like Bud, Miller, etc. Corn is supposed to be food not gas, use oil for gas, not food!  Ethanol is for drinking, not driving! We need to drill and build refineries, not increase the cost of food! This is just one more step in Fedzilla’s plan to take control of our lives, watch out America, it could get really ugly if we let this kind of thing happen!

The $1,000,000,000,000 Mistake

The $1,000,000,000,000 Mistake

By Congressman Michael McCaul

(Washington D.C.)- {For a time when the nation is full of talk of change, the Democrat leadership in Washington seems committed to repeating the mistakes of the past.

The so-called stimulus package presented to us this week is no stimulus at all. In reality, it’s a Trojan Horse for billions of dollars in pork barrel spending. Democrats have said repeatedly that there is not a single earmark in this bill. In fact, the stimulus bill itself is one giant earmark, a massive collection of unnecessary spending, pet projects, and kickbacks to well-heeled contributors.

While I do support some provisions of the bill such as the tax relief and investments in infrastructure, only 17% of this $1 trillion bill provides new tax relief and less than 10% provides new roads and bridges.
This economic crisis demands leadership. It demands immediate tax relief for working families, and help for America’s small businesses, giving them the funds they need to stop the layoffs and hire more employees. It demands that we stabilize home values, and yes, give assistance to the unemployed. All these goals are fulfilled in an alternative plan that I support, but to which the Democrats gave little consideration.

We cannot spend our way out of debt. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says that long-term, this package will do more harm than good. And the President’s own analysts and economic advisors say the Republican plan, which institutes long-term, meaningful tax cuts for individuals and small businesses, will create twice as many jobs for half the cost of the stimulus package. According to their calculations, this alternative stimulus would create an estimated 490,000 jobs in Texas, compared to only 204,000 in the final bill.

At a critical moment in America’s history – when our nation desperately needs strong, principled leadership – Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are bent on taking advantage of this crisis and manipulating the fears of American taxpayers to their own ends. Instead of creating jobs, they’re focused on pushing through massive overreaches of government.

Consider Welfare spending. One measure in the bill seeks to take limits off of Welfare spending that President Clinton imposed 12 years ago. University of Texas professor and former assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Benjamin Sasse, explains that, “Through a little noticed provision of the stimulus package that has passed the House of Representatives, the bill creates a fund that is open-ended.” Sasse explains the provision would essentially remove the five year limit on federal benefits and jeopardize the requirement that recipients begin working after two years of government support.

The stimulus package also includes a step toward government-run healthcare. It creates a new entity of bureaucratic oversight, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, to monitor your treatments. Thanks to this stimulus package, government will be looking over the shoulder of your doctor, preventing him from giving you any treatment they deem “not cost-effective.”

How does putting a bureaucrat in Washington in charge of your health care stimulate the economy? How does it create jobs to roll back welfare reform, unleashing an endless stream of government handouts?
Perhaps my favorite line item in this stimulus package is for $300 million to purchase golf carts. Something’s wrong with this picture when an economic stimulus package includes $300 million of hard-earned taxpayer money for buying $40,000 apiece golf carts. No one seems to know where they’ll even be used!

In times of crisis, history should be our guide. It’s worth remembering an old statement from Henry Morgenthau Jr., the famous Treasury Secretary under President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression, who confessed, “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before, and it does not work.”

Printing money we don’t have will only result in inflation thereby increasing interest rates on credit card purchases and home mortgages.
Spending the equivalent of a million dollars a day for the next three thousand years is not a solution, and it is not leadership to saddle our children with the cost of our poor decisions. It’s time to get Americans working again, and working for themselves – not for paying off the salaries of more bureaucrats and the costs of pork barrel spending.

Michael McCaul represents the 10th Congressional District of Texas

Porkulous and Palosi: Why the Spending bill is in a hurry!

spending bill Porkulous and Palosi: Why the Spending bill is in a hurry! You may not have heard about this, do you know why it is ok for them to push the new bill through, thus breaking a rule they just set? Nancy Palosi is going to meet the Pope! This is unbelievable, first, they set a rule that allowed 48 hours to read the 1500 or so page Porkulous Spending Bill, then, blew that off and started the ball rolling, just because they don’t want to wait 8 days for the Fuhrer, I mean Speaker to get back from the Vatican, is she Catholic? I mean come on, this Bill is so full of things that nobody knows about, if they wait until it gets read, only the far left will vote for it!

From Palosi’s Rat or Mouse or whatever crap, to gun control and health care, things like this have been stuffed into this thing and nobody knows about it! Is this the kind of CHANGE you expected? Well, in my case, yes, I knew it would happen. Does anyone else out there have a problem with this? Now, they are evn having to wait for the 60th vote! They are keeping the vote open until 10:30pm so a straggler has time to fly in for the vote! Like isn’t that his job? I think he went to a funeral or something, sorry, I don’t see that as an excuse, work comes first, especially when it involves the country! I am just fed up with government, it is just too big!

Rockets vs Caveliers

December 23, 2008 by OpinionHead

82991989_DLK009_CAVS_V_ROCKThe game tonight has really been a good one, but as usual, the referees have taken Yao out of the game! Two really bad calls, so far, one before half time the second after, were so bad that even Bill Worrell and Matt Bullard made comments about these calls! However, these are just things that are part of the NBA and the Rockets must overcome it, they should be used to it by now!

That said, I do not think I will ever overcome it! Doesn’t look like Ron Artest can either, but he has done a great job with LeBron James so far, but with all the ticky tac fouls, Cleveland has realized that they can get away with more than usual, but, we will see what happens. I think, in a “fair” game, the Rockets would blow them out! However, every time the Rockets take over, the officials make one of those calls that changes the game!

Here we are in the fourth quarter, and Yao goes for a shot, gets fouled at least twice if not 4 times, but does the whistle blow? Heck no! Funny, Yao was taken out by the officials with an “iffy” foul and two completely bogus ones, yet, do they even call it when he gets fouled 4 times at once? Come on officials, I dare anyone to call me on this one!

Ilgauskas just grabbed Yao and threw him! what do you know, that qualified for a whistle!

Here we are a bit later and ilguaskas has fouled out! Funny, that should have been in the first half!

Who is this Varejao guy? They finally called a foul on him too, he looked like a little dog humping on Yao’s leg!

This could have been a very good game, but with the way the officials called it, it sucked! Cleveland is a great team, but made greater by the removal of Yao Ming and the piss poor calls!

i think that the officials should be taken away, and just let the players fight it out, fair and square! The Rockets end up losing, but I am sure that both sides are unhappy, the officiating was so bad, even at the end, but, it leaned to the Cavs! The only thing anybody wants is a fair game, if one team is better, let it be, do not get the officials to win the game, that just sucks!

Overall; T-Mac sucked as usual, in my opinion a totaly over rated cry baby hypocondraic, but when he gets in the mood a great player, had “sore knees” I believe tonight. LeBron was who he is, a superstar, but, Ron Artest did a good job on him, well, all but the 3rd quarter anyway. This, as I said before, could have been a great game, but the officials sucked!

I can’t Imagine Bill Clinton in the WhiteHouse with nothing to do!

January 24, 2008 by OpinionHead

billary I cant Imagine Bill Clinton in the WhiteHouse with nothing to do!This has got to be the quote of the year! “I can’t Imagine Bill Clinton in the WhiteHouse with nothing to do!” I think Mitt Romney hit the nail right on the head! This was the punchline at the debate tonight.

What would Bill be doing? Chasing Interns? Playing golf? Yes, he may do those things, but as this article shows, I believe his plans are much more serious than to be First Lady! Anybody that believes than Hillary would be President, would believe anything. Well, you have to consider the source, if they vote for any Clinton, they have issues that Dr Phil can’t fix!

That said, even Ron Paul sounded a little better tonight, better than what? Better than he usually does, but he still was spewing about how scewed up the country is. I find it funny, he always talks about how the constitution is being ignored, or whatever, if this were true, wouldn’t that be a big issue for the liberals? Whay don’t you hear these things from them, why haven’t the libertarians chimed in?

Sorry, but I haven’t seen any proof of anything from Ron Paul, except that he is nuts! As my father used to say, “He is showing his ass”. What about Abraham Lincoln’s saying, “It is better to remain silent, and thought a fool, than to speak up and remove all doubt!”.

As far as McCain, Huckabee, and the rest, it was pretty uneventful, no zingers, no points made, nothing new.

Well, that is my Opinion on the debate, and now, tell me what you think.
