Were you there?

For those that were able to get to DC to be a part of Glenn Beck’s 8/28/10 Restoring Honor rally, you already know that this was a “big deal”, and I am sure that you, as I did, expected nothing positive to be mentioned by the so-called “Main Stream” media, but, here is a shocker!

I am from Houston, I love Houston, but, the Houston Chronicle has pretty much always been a liberal, left of center, newspaper, everyone knows that, and I guess that is ok, as long as everyone knows it, but, when I went to start reading what the world was saying about Beck’s rally this morning, I was almost floored when I found this article by Kathleen McKinley, My Thoughts On The Restoring Honor Rally, please take the time to read it, she wrote what I was going to write! I am going to keep an eye on her! ( see what the media had to say)

So, since she already wrote what I was going to, I will move on to an “I told ya so” kind of thing, if you will look at the picture of the crowded mall, you will notice that it is FULL! A few days before the rally, Glenn Beck pointed out what it meant if there were X people in certain areas, and from tho looks of this photo, there were people everywhere people could be! All I can say is, wow! I knew a lot of folks would show up, but dang, I thought that most would be like me and watch it on TV or the internet, in fact, here is a screen-shot I took during the live “Ustream” feed on Facebook, which had about 200,000 viewers while I was watching.

This one was towards the end, after all of the preachers, rabbis, and all had come up on the stage, which was pretty impressive on its own. I mean think about it, he had someone from pretty much every known religion (that believes in one God) on the planet up on that stage, to show unity, and that no matter which group you belong to, getting back to God was the way to restore our own individual honor, which, in turn, would restore the honor of our country.

For those that are not, “believers”, after all of this, you should be, and in fact, if you attended or watched this rally, you had church! Since the Word of God never returns void, this was a spiritual explosion! No, not like a fire-cracker, but a giant blast of God Power, that no doubt will get the far left screaming in pain! I don’t believe that there has ever been a TV preacher of any kind ever get this many people to attend the same meeting at the same time, Glory be to God, Beck had Church!

The smell of burning flesh!

Imagine the day that your family tradition, your holiday celebration, or maybe just your dinner, is no longer allowed! I can see it coming, Obama and his bunch, not to mention the other global warming freaks, and PETA, all want you to give up meat!

I was at a buddy’s house tonight, we grilled up a couple country style ribs, yep, cheap and yummy! That is when it hit me, with all of the changes the “greenheads” want to push on us to control global warming. I am just absolutely amazed that our colleges, and the leaders of the future are being pumped full of this bull.

Do you remember having family cookouts at birthday parties and such? Yep, if they get their way, we’ll all be eating raw carrots at the family barbecue! Hey, burning charcoal gives off CO2, heck, just letting the cows and pigs and such that we eat causes more CO2 to be produced! Just wait, the meat you buy today for $3.99 lb will get a tax of some sort, but, there could be some sort of government subsidized soilent green and tofu meat substitute for half price! Who knows just how far these crazy peogressives will go? It seems to me, that after they get rid of the animals they will start on people, yep, when we breath we give off CO2, dang, humans cause globel warming too!

When will this idiocy end? Is there anyone out there to stand up and say, YOU PEOPLE ARE CRAZY! GLOBAL WARMING IS NOT CAUSED BY MAN! After all, what ever happened to the glaciers? Man wasn’t even here when they started melting. God created this planet, gave us animals to eat, and brains to figure out how to make a fire and cook it!

Man is but an insignificant speck on the face of this planet, why do some think they have to be the ones to save something? Come on people, this is not an action movie where some hot chic kills off a bunch of evil monsters with a machine gun!

Leave my grill and my steak alone! I don’t care if tofu is better for me, it tastes like shit and you can’t grill it! I will never be a vegan, heck, that word is even creepy!

Michael Jackson- Somebody has to say it!

Well, it finally happened, the probable pedophile, has gone on to meet his maker! There will be no more of his controversies, no more suspicions, just he and the Almighty! Though he was never convicted, I can’t think of anyone that thought he was innocent, but, this is not for me to judge, I would imagine that by now the only one that can judge, has done so. I have to admit, I was watching Fox News when the story broke, and I had mixed feelings about his demise, on one side, I felt, ‘good riddence’, another was, ‘I sure hope he got saved first’, another was, ‘isn’t putting that much plastic in the ground bad for the environment?’, then came, ‘will God even recognize him, he sure doesn’t look like the Michael Jackson he used to?’, yes, there were a lot of thoughts that went through my mind, but, sadly, the one I will always remember is, ‘How did this punk become news worthy? Why is he getting the coverage he is? Who even cares?’ Yes, I know, all of this sounds evil, but, I have to be honest, call it a confession or whatever, I am sorry if I offend anybody, but I am not the least bit sad, I actually laughed! God, I am sorry, but, that is the truth.

The whole Neverland Ranch, and all of those poor kids came to mind, not the cute little black kid Micheal used to be, not his family, not his fans, just the little pervert sleeping with little boys, while hiding who he was with millions of dollars of fake noses and chins!

Instead of mourning this guy, maybe the discussion should be on how this happened? What would it take to cause a black kid, with tons of money, wanna not only bleach his hide to an  eerily translucent white, but change his look so much, that the only thing left to change was his sex?

How dare Michael Jackson die the same time as Farah Fawcett? One second it was about her, the next she was barely a mention! What about Ed McMahan?  Many might say that Farrah and Ed were dying for a long time and Michael just fell over, but, I beg to differ, this guy had to be sick too! What else could explain his looks?  Right? NO!  I am sorry, in this PC world we live in now, everyone is afraid to just say “That is wrong!”, so, here I am, somebody has to say it, being a pedophile, especially a gay one is WRONG! It is not an illness, it is a choice, just like being a drunk, we need to quit making excuses!

I think the part of Michael Jackson’s death that upset me was the fact that I had to change the channel to not have to see it all over the news! As sorry as I am for those that cared about him, I did not.  All I can say is, Rest in Peace Michael, and may God have mercy on your soul.

[EDIT] Now I am really pissed! I missed Glenn Beck earlier today, thinking I could see it tonight, but NO, Fox is still covering that little pedophile punk! How quickly we forget! What if the courts would have given him the death penalty, would anybody be upset when they stuck the needle in?  Looks like I am not alone! DogandPony….., Buzz18…., and even Yahoo Answers! Come on people!

How did America get so Politically Correct?

Can anyone tell me, exactly when did this whole political correctness mess get started? Who started it? Why was it even considered, much less enforced? I am going to guess here, but I have a feeling it got started in the seventies, just after the “civil rights” era, during that time that everyone was feeling guilty. Now, don’t get me wrong, the white man was guilty of a lot of things back then, hey, you should have heard the way people used to speak back then, I was 8 years old in 1970, I heard it.  I didn’t understand that the use of certain, now forbidden, words, could possibly be a bad thing, after all, I also grew up hearing “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”, so, somehow, I missed the whole thing!

Since this ‘politically correct’ movement took hold, things have changed! I can see where it is not nice to use certain words, but, I grew up being taught that it was the feeling behind the words that was wrong, not the words themselves, after all, sticks and stones…. Anyway, do you get my point?

Today, almost 40 years later, things have really changed! Now, it is alright for any race to use “white” in a duragatory manner, when referring to race, but it is not alright for a white guy to use any term that can be construed to be “hate” speach when referring to race, and God forbid, if you are a hetero-sexual white guy, you just cannot say anything at all about anything or you get called a bigot!  By the way, when have you ever heard that word to describe anyone, other than a white guy? here is what the dictionary says;

One who is strongly partial to one’s own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

Based on this definition of bigot, I have to admit, I am one! Yes, and my group is, “human beings”, yeah, aliens (yeah, like non-humans, from another planet!) suck! You know, they are green, purple or some other color, have tenticles, they dress funny and they smell bad! (based on movies like men in Black) Can you see where I am headed?

How many generations will go by, before it is no longer politically correct to say what I have just written? Surely, some alien is going to show up and be offended!  If I say, “you stupid, green, smelly son of a female dog”, referring to a ‘non-human’ alien, there is no one here to take offense, and I am sure that unless they conquer us, thus proving real hate, there will be many that say even worse, think about this, and should this ever happen, how long before the PC police ban the use of the word alien altogether? Will we humans, be subjected to a one way restriction on “hate” speech, like us hetero white guys are now? Have you noticed, I am having to qualify the word alien with ‘non-human’, when I use this word? How far will the PC police go?

Here we are in 2009 and I am writing this, if such a concept could have ever even been imaginable, what would the people a few hundred years ago have written? I know that my father’s generation never saw it coming!

Here is where my whole point comes out, are you familiar with Perez Hilton? You know, that gay (no, not happy) guy, that called Miss California several not nice words, I guess I should say ex-Miss California. Funny, this guy, or gal, or whatever it is, somehow was put on a panel to judge a beauty contest, how would he, she, or it, even know what a beautiful woman was supposed to be like anyway? (I could have made this a lot shorter with just one little F word, couldnt I?)  Anyway, did you hear what happened? He, she. it. or whatever, called a dude from The Black eyed Peas a fag and got his ass kicked, or at least he, she, it says he. she, it, did.  I don’t know what started it, but I know this, if that Perez Hilton would have gotten into it with some people, he would have at least had a mark or two on his face while he cried on that video like a little girl that just had her pony tail yanked by a mean little boy in school! Maybe it was karma? I guess it was a really good thing he didn’t call him a white guy!

Personally, I agree with the ex-Miss California!

Somehow, I feel this Political Correctness crap has just gotten out of hand!

I just found a video on political correctness, I didn’t watch it, so, if it is something crazy, tough, complain to those that made it!

Remember Columbine?

I am sure that you remember what happened at the  Columbine High School in Colorado, I just received this from a friend in an email. who asked me to post it here, heck, this is one of those things I would have posted even if I wasn’t asked. I hope everyone reads this, it is a good one!

Guess our national leaders didn’t expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary committee’s subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

Since the dawn of creation there has been both good and evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.

“The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain’s heart.

“In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA – because I don’t believe that they are responsible for my daughter’s death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended.. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel’s murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy — it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You’ve stripped away our heritage,
You’ve outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question “Why?”
You regulate restrictive laws,
Through legislative creed..
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc.. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation’s history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine’s tragedy occurs — politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person jn America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA — I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter’s death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!”

Do what the media did not – - let the nation hear this man’s speech.. Please send this out to everyone you can.

Finally, the playoffs begin!

This year, the Houston Rockets are playing the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round, all I can say is thank God it is not the Utah Jazz! I am not knocking the Blazers, they are a great team, what I am saying is, I am tired of the Jazz! It seems like Utah and Houston are always battling in the first round, and, unfortunately, Houston usually loses!

Anyone that watches much basketball, knows that there are just some teams that beat certain teams, even if that team is better. Look at the Houston Oilers vs the Dallas Cowboys, even when Dallas was kicking but and taking names way back when, the Oilers, who may have only won 2 or 3 games the whole season, always seemed to beat Dallas in the Texas Bowl or whatever it is called, I don’t remember, but you get my point.

This year, that Utah curse (excuse) or whatever you want to call it, will not be the reason Houston doesn’t get out of the first round! I have to say, I like Houston’s chances against Portland, I mean, how long has it benn since Portland was even in the playoffs?

This year is going to be a battle in Texas, with the Sant Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks meeting up in the first round, this is going to be awesome! I have to say, I believe tha the Rockets took a dive against Dallas in the 4th quarter of that last game, just to have a better chance against Portland in the first round, what do you think?

What about Tracy McGrady? Won’t it be a bit awkward if Houston wins the finals? With T-Mac, they coudn’t even get out of the first round, with him sitting at home, they are doing great. I would be willing to bet that if Houston wins, they will trade T-Mac for someone that is not such a crybaby, seems like he always has some sort of booboo that keeps him complaining and making excuses for a poor performance, but hey, that is just my opinion.

I have to admit, when they traded off Steve Francis, I almost disowned the Rockets! He was an important part of the “Team”, no, he may not have been the best point guard, but, he was a team player and gave it everything he had, each and every game! My personal view on “Teams” is that you don’t just get rid of someone like you were trading off bubble gum cards! A Team is just that, the more cohesiveness you have, the more confidence you have, and the players aren’t afraid to play hard and make a mistake, it is that that has kept San Antonio ruling the NBA for years, after all, look what happened to the Lakers when they got rid of Shaq!

When I started this site, I did it for this reason, it was like I could see what was happening, but there were very few others like me, now, I don’t feel quite so isolated, people are starting to stand up and say “Hey, this big government, big spending, and trampling of the constitution crap just ain’t gonna cut it!” I want people, regardless of their opinions, left, right, or middle, to come here and share those opinions!

So, if you agree with me, if you think I am insane, if you believe that GW Bush is God or Satan was a great president or just an idiot, if you think Obama is the messiah or the antichrist, if you think Rush is Right, or wrong, it doesn’t matter! The whole point is for us all to come together, learn why we have these different views, and then realize that we have more in common than we thought, and then maybe, just maybe, we could all get along! If we can get together, we can solve our problems, but, we need to stand “together”, so, register, get the email subscription, and post a comment or be an author, it is up to you!

Finally, someone is going to stand up to Iran!

Benjamin Netanyahu has let it be known that he is not going to allow Iran to get nukes! Netanyahu has also put the ball in  Barack Obama’s court, basically stating, Stop Iran or I will. I have been waiting on this for a long time now, Netanyahu is just about the only leader in the world, and he was just sworn in, that has the balls to stand up to this crazy, extremist, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or Ahmad-the-nutjob as I call him, and, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei .

We all know that the U.S. is having financial problems, the whole world is, and Obama’s spending spree has made it even worse, but someone has got to do something to stop Iran from getting nukes, otherwise, our financial problems will seem trivial compared to the threat of a nuclear Iran!

I especially like this quote from Netanyahu, “You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.” This pretty much puts it all into perspective, or at least it should.

For those that are of the belief, “Peace at all costs”, all I can say is, cover you eyes and ears and stick your head in the sand if you want, but someone must stand up to these evil monsters in the world. Don’t be scared. I say to Benjamin Netanyahu, “Do what you have to do, since America has been emasculated, a self inflicted injury, by electing an ultra liberal, entitlement funding, fiscally irresponsible, and basically spineless government, somebody has to do what is needed!” I mean come on, changing “The War on Terror” to “Overseas Contingency Operation” and “Terrorism” to “man-caused disasters”, is that weak or what? Thank God there is still one “leader” left in the world!

Do You Remember where you were on September 11, 2001?

Do you remember where you were? I know that I do, I have a very vivid memory of that day, at least the first part of it, after news of the attacks happening, it all kind of becomes a blur! Glenn Beck remembers too, follow this link to listen, it brings back a lot of memories for me, maybe it will for you too.

That day started like every day during that time, I had just stopped and picked up donuts for the guys, and was sitting at a red-light, waiting to pull in to the parking lot, when my cell phone rang. It was my girlfriend, and she was freaking out a bit, trying to tell me that an airplane had just hit the World Trade Center, honestly, I started to laugh! As bad as that sounds, it was that I thought she was just playing a joke on me, but, no sooner than I had started to laugh, and she started screaming! I mean screaming like the world had just ended! I never did laugh.

At this point, everything was still unknown, when she first called, it sounded like a plane crash or something benign like that, you know, just an accident, even as bad as that would have been, it just didn;t sound like a big deal, until she screamed! I have to tell you, I had just put my truck into park at that time, thank God, but when she screamed, I knew it was no joke! That was when the second plane had hit.

I got out of my pickup, forgetting the donuts, and was headed into the carpet store, as she was hearing the details of  what had happened, and was telling me, I know I must have looked like a mess to everyone inside, that were waiting on the donuts, and as I sterted to tell them what had happened, they had the same reaction that I did at first, they thought I was joking. Someone got my keys and went out to my truck to get the donuts, while I was trying to find a radio station to hear what was happening.

I had to get the installers loaded up so they could get to work, and I did, still on the cell phone with my girlfriend and still telling everyone what had happened, and still, no one believed me! Once the Installers were gone, I finally got the little radio to work and was listening to it, but there was nothing but music, about this time, my cell phone battery went dead.

Here I was, feeling like I was the only person in the city of Houston that knew, at this time there was a truck pulling up outside our back door, it was a utility repair truck, the guy jumps out and asks me if I had heard what happened, to be honest, I actually felt relieved that I wasn’t alone in my knowledge. There we were, listening to the radio in his truck, and one by one, others started walking up, listening with us, no one said a word! We were all in shock! Soon after, there was the report about the Pentagon, and then, the plane that had been missing, crashed, and the order for all planes to get out of the sky came.

The carpet store is basically accross the street from the airport, at the North end, which is past the runways, the sky was almost black with aircraft! It was like something from a movie, but that didn’t take long, and the skys were empty. That sound, that we had all taken for granted of the planes coming and going, was gone, everything was silent, and it stayed that way…………..after that it is a blur.

One thing I do remember, is the people, there was this strange bond we all had, we had all just experienced something that we would never forget.

Over the next few days, the news had very little crime to report, it was as if crime just stopped. There was but one thing, America, someone had just attacked us, and everyone was mad!

Within just a few days, the “Proud to be an American” stuff started hitting the stores, and I bought a can koozie, that stated that, and “United We Stand”, with the date of September 11, 2001 on it, I still have it. I still remember!

Medical Marijuana:Good or Bad?

Medical Marijuana, this is one of those touchy subjects that can get you into trouble if you end up on the wrong side of the law! However, it is a big issue in this country, but why?

Well, have you ever been in pain? No, I don’t meant one of those little things like a toothache, I mean chronic pain, pain that just will not go away, pain that makes it impossible to even eat, sleep or function in any way, I have, and it is not fun.

This is one of those areas that moves me far away from the standard “conservative” viewpoint, because I have been there! We have all seen those horror movies they used to show kids, and I can tell you those propaganda films are wrong, wrong in their presentation, because all they do is make kids want to try it! However, that is not the point of this article.

The point I want to make is not about “legalizing” Pot, it is about Freedom! I guess this is a “Libertarian” thing, what else could I call it? We all have a right to our Opinions, and this is mine, “If smoking pot helps you, either deal with pain, or whatever, it is your choice, you can go get a ‘legal’ prescription, for some very potent narcotics or antidepressants that are also expensive, and addictive, or, you can smoke a joint”, but, if you get caught with weed, you get in trouble! Personally, I find this a bit strange, after all, marijuana is just a plant, and God made plants!

Opinions very wildly on this one, but, if you look at it from an open minded point of view, and think about what I am saying, maybe you will be able to understand why medical marijuana is such a big issue in this country.

We all keep hearing about the drug war, ok, why? We hear about the narco-gangs and cartels, and how evil they are, ok, true. The question is, why do they exist? Simple, it is just business, supply and demand, what the war is trying to accomplish, is to eliminate the supply, and we all know, that will never work as long as there is a demand, all it does is make the price go up! I have never heard of a stoner, robbing anyone to get weed, just crackheads and heroine addicts and the like, but not a pothead! I guess it is like oil, when we stop buying gasoline, the price goes down, the the oil companies cut down the supply and the gas prices go up!

I believe that anyone that is a “stoner” will agree with this, pot is not the problem, hard drugs are! So what is the difference? Simple, God made Pot, it is just a plant! Cocaine and heroin also come from plants, BUT, they are processed and altered, haven’t you ever had a burger with poppy seeds on the bun? Hmm, that is the plant heroin comes from, could you imagine a burger with pot seeds on it? The poor hemp plant gets a bad deal on this, it is used to make all kinds of things, just don’t smoke it! Makes you wonder who found out that smoking hemp would get you high?

I find it a bit strange, tobacco is legal, pot isn’t, tobacco causes cancer, pot doesn’t, alcohol is legal, alcohol gives you a hangover, pot doesn’t, funny huh? Remember prohibition, didn’t work did it, but, there were many a cartel that got rich from it, funny, they became famous, folklore and movies were made, moonshiners and the revenuers, hey, what was that last word? Revenuers! Why was operating a still illegal? Because the government couldn’t get their tax money! Why is it illegal to grow your own? I think, because they can’t tax it!

Think about this, food is not taxed, at least not here in Texas, but beer and booze are. We can make our own beer and wine, and yes, I have brewed a lot of beer. If it were legal to “grow your own”, what could be wrong with that? Growing your own food is not taxed, because you plant a seed and it grows and you eat it, I fail to see the difference. See where I am headed with this?

Imagine, if growing your own, would allow you to avoid buying the expensive prescription narcotics, who would that hurt? The pharmaceutical companies? No, they make plenty of different products, and those narcotics are needed for many things, so, who would it hurt? The tax man, the revenuers, thats who!

Regardless of your view on marijuana and the comparison to tobacco, beer and booze as to its effects, you are free to buy tobacco, beer and booze, but not weed, this is an issue of freedom! Hey, abortion is legal, because they say, it is about choice, but a baby must die to exercise this “choice”, if one “chooses” to smoke weed, you don’t kill anything but a brain cell or two, just like tobacco, beer and booze, so, why don’t we have that choice? I have a feeling that there will be a few “stoners” at the upcoming tea parties, why not, it is all about the same thing, telling government that we are here, and to get out of our lives, and our pocketbooks!

To sum it up, I am a firm believer in Freedom, and if burning a doobie can help you cope with pain, or another medical problem, and it hurts no one, what is the problem?
