Gun Control: What separates reality from fantasy and paranoia?

Gun control, a big issue, but, what separates reality from fantasy and paranoia? The shooting in Pittsburgh is but one of the first, I fear, that will have at least some basis in the belief that President Obama and his regime, will somehow find a way to circumvent the U.S. Constitution, and take our guns away. This is the paranoia.
Don’t get me wrong, what the guy in Pittsburgh did was wrong, how it got started, his mental stability, his job loss, and so on. all play a part in this, but, what does it prove?
Americans have very little confidence in the government, and fear that the Constitution is in jeapardy. This is a huge problem, and could trigger more of the “less stable” to snap! President Obama and his henchmen, will, if they get a chance, limit our rights to “Keep and bear arms”, we all know it, but, it is these type of events that give them the “ammo” (pardon the pun), to get the population behind such an idea! This is where the fantasy comes in, it is that the very group that wants to keep guns, doing stupid things, that the “other” side believes is reality, this guy has provided fuel for their fantasies of getting rid of guns! The fantasy, of the perfect Utopia with no guns.
My heart goes out to the families and friends of anyone harmed in what this guy did. Maybe we can all learn from this? The state of our society is in panic, because so many of us believe that the very fabric of our founding, is going to be unraveled, one line of the Constitution at a time, do we need to start shooting at each other? NO!
What we need is to stand up, and speak out, get others like us involved in expressing that “We the People” want to keep our Constitution, and maybe, just maybe, some that are teetering on the edge of sanity, will not be able to use that fear as an excuse! People come in all shapes, and flavors, but we have one thing in common, we are all Americans, and we need to act like it! People get sick, people go crazy, we all have problems, but, we can not blame one mans problem on all other mens freedoms! (or womens)

Medical Marijuana:Good or Bad?

Medical Marijuana, this is one of those touchy subjects that can get you into trouble if you end up on the wrong side of the law! However, it is a big issue in this country, but why?
Well, have you ever been in pain? No, I don’t meant one of those little things like a toothache, I mean chronic pain, pain that just will not go away, pain that makes it impossible to even eat, sleep or function in any way, I have, and it is not fun.
This is one of those areas that moves me far away from the standard “conservative” viewpoint, because I have been there! We have all seen those horror movies they used to show kids, and I can tell you those propaganda films are wrong, wrong in their presentation, because all they do is make kids want to try it! However, that is not the point of this article.
The point I want to make is not about “legalizing” Pot, it is about Freedom! I guess this is a “Libertarian” thing, what else could I call it? We all have a right to our Opinions, and this is mine, “If smoking pot helps you, either deal with pain, or whatever, it is your choice, you can go get a ‘legal’ prescription, for some very potent narcotics or antidepressants that are also expensive, and addictive, or, you can smoke a joint”, but, if you get caught with weed, you get in trouble! Personally, I find this a bit strange, after all, marijuana is just a plant, and God made plants!
Opinions very wildly on this one, but, if you look at it from an open minded point of view, and think about what I am saying, maybe you will be able to understand why medical marijuana is such a big issue in this country.
We all keep hearing about the drug war, ok, why? We hear about the narco-gangs and cartels, and how evil they are, ok, true. The question is, why do they exist? Simple, it is just business, supply and demand, what the war is trying to accomplish, is to eliminate the supply, and we all know, that will never work as long as there is a demand, all it does is make the price go up! I have never heard of a stoner, robbing anyone to get weed, just crackheads and heroine addicts and the like, but not a pothead! I guess it is like oil, when we stop buying gasoline, the price goes down, the the oil companies cut down the supply and the gas prices go up!
I believe that anyone that is a “stoner” will agree with this, pot is not the problem, hard drugs are! So what is the difference? Simple, God made Pot, it is just a plant! Cocaine and heroin also come from plants, BUT, they are processed and altered, haven’t you ever had a burger with poppy seeds on the bun? Hmm, that is the plant heroin comes from, could you imagine a burger with pot seeds on it? The poor hemp plant gets a bad deal on this, it is used to make all kinds of things, just don’t smoke it! Makes you wonder who found out that smoking hemp would get you high?
I find it a bit strange, tobacco is legal, pot isn’t, tobacco causes cancer, pot doesn’t, alcohol is legal, alcohol gives you a hangover, pot doesn’t, funny huh? Remember prohibition, didn’t work did it, but, there were many a cartel that got rich from it, funny, they became famous, folklore and movies were made, moonshiners and the revenuers, hey, what was that last word? Revenuers! Why was operating a still illegal? Because the government couldn’t get their tax money! Why is it illegal to grow your own? I think, because they can’t tax it!
Think about this, food is not taxed, at least not here in Texas, but beer and booze are. We can make our own beer and wine, and yes, I have brewed a lot of beer. If it were legal to “grow your own”, what could be wrong with that? Growing your own food is not taxed, because you plant a seed and it grows and you eat it, I fail to see the difference. See where I am headed with this?
Imagine, if growing your own, would allow you to avoid buying the expensive prescription narcotics, who would that hurt? The pharmaceutical companies? No, they make plenty of different products, and those narcotics are needed for many things, so, who would it hurt? The tax man, the revenuers, thats who!
Regardless of your view on marijuana and the comparison to tobacco, beer and booze as to its effects, you are free to buy tobacco, beer and booze, but not weed, this is an issue of freedom! Hey, abortion is legal, because they say, it is about choice, but a baby must die to exercise this “choice”, if one “chooses” to smoke weed, you don’t kill anything but a brain cell or two, just like tobacco, beer and booze, so, why don’t we have that choice? I have a feeling that there will be a few “stoners” at the upcoming tea parties, why not, it is all about the same thing, telling government that we are here, and to get out of our lives, and our pocketbooks!
To sum it up, I am a firm believer in Freedom, and if burning a doobie can help you cope with pain, or another medical problem, and it hurts no one, what is the problem? Socialism: What comes next? Will they take our guns away?

In case you have been living in a hole somewhere, our country is headed down a very rough road, one that could lead to many different problems, and possibly solutions, depending on your view of them. I live in Texas, and hey, we have been our own Republic before, if things start to get too bad, what makes anyone think it won’t happen again? Hey, I live here, I could see it happen, get enough pissed off Texans together anything is possible. Hey, Texas is the only state in the country that has everything that the rest of the country together has, and we are big enough to take in folks from elsewhere that want to get away, so, it could happen! All I know, is before any stuff hits the fan, I am getting a couple of new guns! Why, because, if Fedzilla gets its way, they will try and take them away from us!
Yes for many folks, the ones that live in a place like New York, or San Francisco, this may not matter, but to us gun totin’ Texans, this is a very big issue! Just in case you don’t know, that is why the right to bear arms is in our Constitution! Yep, just in case the Government gets crazy and tries to take our freedom away, you have to remember how the country started, it was a Revolution!
No, I am not trying to get a militia together, all I am doing is saying it could happen, if you add in the border situation, the fact that Mexico could fall apart, Texas is in the line of fire, and it could get ugly, because Texans will defend themselves. My point in writing this is simple, there are Americans all over the place that are worried about Fedzilla getting too big! There could be all kinds of trouble in the future, just as I know that Texas will, I believe that most Americans will stand up and defend their homes.
The bigger Fedzilla gets, the bigger the uproar will get, I believe this is a serious issue, and if you see what Fedzilla is up to, growing bigger every day, sooner or later something is going to happen, Americans will do anything to stay Free!

Mad Magazine: I think they got it right!

While browsing the web, I found an article telling about Mad Magazines current issue, sorry, I forgot where, but that got me curious, so I eventually went to Mad’s website to see about this myself. (If you want to see it for yourself, just click the image and it will take you to Mad’s site.) Mad is usually a bit left leaning, but always funny, I think I am going to subscribe, I used to get it, hmm, I wonder why I stopped? Anyway, if you click the image and go to their site, you can preview the issue, it is funny!
Anyway, it makes me stop and think, what would that first 100 minutes really be like? Ok, you know that the first 100 minutes went by so fast, he probably didn’t have time to think about anything, it was all just ceremony, pretty stuff for the press, things that didn’t really matter to the rest of us. I guess if I was one of his cult like followers, maybe I would have been impacted by the whole scene, but, me, personally, I was just sick!
Watching the hoards of people that endured God only knows what to just be there, I was reminded of Jonestown and the Kool-Aid. I have to admit, whatever it is that must be passed around at his rallies, has to be good stuff! It is going to be funny when the buzz wears off and reality hits!
You may have noticed that I wasn’t posting much since the election, as I said above, I was sick! The thought of where this water walking twin of the antichrist is going to take this country, I didn’t want to just start writing and say something based only on emotion, heck, at that point, the secret service may have wanted to talk to me, I was absolutely furious! I have to admit, waiting to write has been a good decision, now, I can write based on things that have happened, like that porkulus spending bill, wow, whodathunkit? Me, thats who! That is, me and everyone else who isn’t drinking the Obama Kool-Aid! Follow the porkulus link and read more about it, I still cannot believe it! I am having flashbacks to when I was a kid and Jimmy (Peanut-head) Carter was president, remember the gas shortages, the cost of living, unemployment, oh boy, I am glad that I am not a clueless teenager anymore, like the people that voted for Obama! Why do I say that, hey, I am 46 now, I know what is coming, and it will be worse than when Peanut-head was in charge!
I know, they are going to blame Bush, but only the Kool-Aid drinkers will believe that, I mean did Bush bring down the whole world economy? Not likely, these things, just like the weather, come in cycles, that old “what goes up must come down” thing, ya know? Just as (Man-Made) Global warming is being proven false, the truth will come out, eventually, and my Grandchildren will hopefully read the history books and wonder, why did Obama do the same thing they did to cause the great depression? Think about it, you cannot spend your way out of debt! You know, last I heard we are in the weather patterns simular to the 30′s and 40′s, hmm, just like the economy, what a coincidence.

Tolerance of the Intolerant: We all need to take a close look at ourselves!

You know, sometimes wisdom can be found in the strangest of places! I watch Southpark on a regular basis, and have since the first episode, that should tell you something about me! Anyway, the episode I saw today, “The Death Camp of Tolerance“, inspired me to write this. After a quick search, I found southparkzone.com where you can see all episodes and all seasons, FREE!
Back to the topic, Tolerance, have you ever noticed that the very people who want us all to hide our feelings, and be tolerant, never stop to think about what they are saying. Look up the word, as I did, and you may be surprised. UNESCO defines it like this:

I didn’t see the former in the latter, but I did see this part, “sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own“, hmm, not exactly the same is it?
Personally, if I am tolerating something, it does not mean that I accept it, it means whatever it is bothers me a great deal, but I am controlling myself, to not choke the heck out of somebody!
Keeping this in mind, I can understand how anyone on any side of any issue, with differing opinions, could start something that is even bigger than the issue itself!
So, what can we all do? Simple, express your feelings on an issue, but be ready if you offend someone, don’t just hide in a hole somewhere! It is ok to disagree, that is what makes us all who we are, but, if we swallow that lump that comes up in your throat for too long, get used to the taste! In this society today, if you are on the opposite side of any “special” group, even if 99% of all the other people agree with you, you get tagged as intolerant! Why does the majority have to give way to the minority? Because we keep hiding our heads in a hole!
Does the saying, “It’s the squeaky wheel that gets the grease”, mean anything to you? It should, that is what happened to us! So, if you see an issue that bugs you, say something! If I have to put up with the various things people do, that bother me, then those same people should have to put up with the things that I do! Fair is fair, right? Why is it one side always have to give in completely? Where is the compromise?

What is up with Global Warming? Can anybody bring the glaciers back? Did Al Gore get it wrong?

Does anybody think that global warming is a myth? Well, since none of us was around way back when, the proof came from physical evidence that is still there today.
Al Gore and his cronies used what to predict Global Warming? Computer models! This is a relatively new toy, that has not been proven as accurate, nor has it been disproved, so what is my point? They were guessing!
Does anybody remember all of the talk about the coming Ice Age/cooling back in the 70′s? Follow that link to learn more. Since that didn’t work out the way the gloom and doomers wanted, why was it ever an issue? Why is it still an issue? Well, it points to what, more guessing!
Here is the most recent on Global Warming if it can be debated, it must be unproven, right?
Personally, I believe that Global Warming is real, very real, I mean where did the glaciers go? They melted! I am not talking about a couple of icebergs, I am talking about glaciers! However, this process took what, about a gazilion years to happen? There were no factories or pollution to help either! Read more
