Ignorance is bliss!

Just a day or two ago, I saw on Hannity, (Fox News), he had a panel of Democrats from New Jersey, the show was very interesting, and as usual, allowed the views from the “left” to be shared. I have to admit, I spend almost all of my day, and night, watching the news, and a limited few other programs, and reading books, but my world, my life, is basically here, on the Internet, so, I am able to keep up with what is actually going on in the world, and do not base my opinions on second or third hand information. This said, I am not judging anyone, I am just letting you know where I am coming from.

During this show, Hannity asked one guy if he liked paying taxes, and broke it down as to the facts about his state and local taxes making it that he paid more to live in a state that is in debt and has high unemployment. This guy, said he has to pay more in taxes to pay for states that don’t have state tax! Obviously, this poor uninformed man did not have a clue! State taxes go to that state, it is the federal taxes that go into the government fund and are supposed to be used to take care of the things that the Federal government is supposed to take care of, like our military, but, not the things the state is supposed to take care of like roads in that state.

You could summarize the definition of the word, “ignorance”, as, “not knowing”, thus, this man was ignorant to the facts. The type of government you have, the wasteful spending, the entitlements, the unions, and so on are what determine how much money a state needs and where they get this money. I live in the great state of Texas, we have no local or state taxes, and also have a balanced budget, unemployement is still lower than most states, and, the low taxes is at least part of the reason! Texas is a big place, has tons of roads, and no, they are not all perfect, I doubt any state is, but, we are doing pretty good. So, why do these “liberal” states have so many taxes? Ignorance! Yes, the people there, obviously, “don’t know”, that they too can have lower taxes, if, the adopt more conservative ways and move away from the fanatical fantasy of the “nanny state” that takes care of everything!

I met a guy from “up north” who was looking for a job, and couldn’t understand why here in Texas he got laughed at when looking for a job. The guy went on to explain that he just wanted to get paid about what he did “back home”, which was about $25 an hour, for a “helper” position. I couldn’t help but laugh when he said that he had been told, “we could hire three guys for that amount”, because I knew it was true. What this guy was so ignorant of, were the facts, that $25 an hour, put him in a higher tax bracket,  with the added local and state taxes, and the “Union Dues” he brought home less than the guy that got $8 an hour here! This means that three people have a job, spend money and keep the economy going. The cost of living is less here too because the business you buy your food or whatever from doesn’t have to pay those extra taxes to the city, state or union! You do the math, are you ignorant?

Here we go, now the government is running businesses!

So, did Obama just call him up and say, “your fired” or what? I am sorry, I have no sympathy for Rick Wagner, GM has had issues for decades now, I used to sell Chevrolets, but I have always bought Ford! Funny thing is, the dealers would not let me park my ford anywhere customers could see it, I had to park behind the dealership! Sorry, had to vent a bit!

I just say that the government has NO business firing anyone!

I doubt that most people know who GM’s “target” customers are, now don’t get mad at me, this is not my view, it is what they taught us when I sold Chevy’s, well, I could try and remember the long way they worded it, but, I won’t, let me say it as direct as I can, Chevies are for the dumb rednecks,Buick is for old people, Pontiac is a sporty, more expensive version of the same stuff, and Saturn is for anyone wanting to pay extra, just so they don’t have to negotiate!

Anyway, back to the point, since GM sucked, because they let the unions run them down and take over, GM should have just filed bankruptcy and started over!  So, why didn’t they? If your business is sucking, does the FedZilla show up and bail you out? Heck no! So why do they bail out GM and Chrysler? I can sum that up in one word, UNIONS! Obama is the Union President, he got elected by the unions so, he has to watch out for them. We the People now own them!

Since GM took the bailout money, that makes them “subjects” of the Obama kingdom, so, King Obama can just call them up and fire them! Keep this in mind, if you want any Government money, “welfare”, “Unemployment” and so on, if you take it, they own you!

Now don’t get , me wrong, the problem with the unions are not the “people” that are the members, it is the leadership, the ones that the union members pay, just so they can have a job! Anyone would want a job with big “benefits”, but it is all of these entitlements that have hurt GM, and if we don’t watch out, and we let King Obama get his social issues shoved down our throats, and let him start even worse “benefit” programs for our nation, we will all be in the same boat as GM! Our Government is broke, just like GM, but they can print money! We must tell them to stop!

As I said, GM is now owned by the government, but remember who owns the government? We the People thats who, it is up to us to tell them to stop the madness! Quit spending our money! Since we own the Government, lets fire them like Obama did Wagner!

Why did Texas refuse money from FedZilla?

Why did Texas tell Fedzilla thanks, but, no thanks? As it is, from my perspective, here in Texas, the polititians that you never hear about, are, invisible, because if you don’t hear any loud exchanges, there is no media coverage.

This is just wrong! I want everyone to know that I am not the only one that does not want anything from FedZilla except for what it is supposed to provide, as in The Constitution. Texas Governor, Rick Perry has declined the money from that Porkulus bill, why? Here is an excerpt from a video, found on the Governors website. (note that I would have the video here but it is not embeddable)

After careful review of the federal government’s stimulus package, Gov. Perry opted against the required expansion of the state’s unemployment insurance program, due to its long-term negative impact on the Texas economy

I am sorry that the rest of the world is having problems, but, if you visit Texas, you will not see the same issues, things are pretty good here actually, I am proud of Governor Perry for having the intelligence, and the guts, to Just Say No!

I am hoping to see him show up at one of the Tea Parties in Texas on April 15th, but I doubt that he will, although, that would be a fantastic political move for the next election! I have a feeling that the next elections are going to bring “Real” and drastic changes to our government, because from the signs at the tea parties, and all of the talk at The912Project.com, I can hardly wait!

1900 Percent Beer Tax: The Democrats have gone crazy!

When I heard this, I thought I was going to hear a punchline, but no, this is for real! The Democrats in Oregon are trying to get a bill passed that would increase the tax on a barrel of beer (that is two kegs for you and me) from $2.60 to $49.61, this could add as much as $2-$4 per six pack! Some of my favorite beer comes from Oregon, and no, this would not effect me here in Texas, where we already pay high beer taxes, but, it would cause big layoffs or basically the shutdown of these small breweries, that is just wrong!

The reason they want to do this is to raise money for the treatment of drugs and alcoholism! Now, this just doesn’t make sense, give the drunks free beer it would be ok then! As far as the drugs go, I hear that some of the best weed comes from Oregon, say they are already covered! My point is, we all need to start watching the government very closely, since Obama got elected, the Democrats are going nuts! As it is, the Lefties have already taken corn away from us to make fuel, corn which is used in many beers (not the good ones like Rogue) that you buy, like Bud, Miller, etc. Corn is supposed to be food not gas, use oil for gas, not food!  Ethanol is for drinking, not driving! We need to drill and build refineries, not increase the cost of food! This is just one more step in Fedzilla’s plan to take control of our lives, watch out America, it could get really ugly if we let this kind of thing happen!

Endangered Sharks? Maybe they are supposed to die off?

Now I know this one will make somebody mad, but I have to say it! This is one of those things that goes along with man-made global warming! Is it a waste of time and money to even research this crap? I mean, if it was something like tracking asteroids, or space debris, then I could see it, I guess, at least we would know when we were getting smashed, since we couldn’t do anything about it.

Seriously, I see the problem is that people have forgotten who is in charge! Man has gotten too big for his britches if you ask me, God created everything here, all of the animals, and, just like the dinosaur, many are gone! Maybe they are supposed to go away? How many thousands, maybe millions, of species are gone, why not let this stupid grey nurse shark, whos babies eat each other, just go? Read this article on FoxNews.com Endangered Sharks to Get Artificial Uteruses, I am just stunned, artificial uteruses, isn’t this going a bit far? Man is an insignificant speck on this planet, why can’t we realize this?

Afterall, shouldn’t we have learned something after all of these years? People talk about how God created us all in different colors and so on, I guess you could say this is true, but man being divided in language etc, was a punishment for the tower of Babylon, where we were trying to be like God, so, us all being different doesn’t mean that any one type of, language, race, etc, is any better, it just means we are different for a reason, for what, trying to be God! If what I am saying doesn’t make any sense to you, get a Bible and look it up! I’ll give you a hint, it is in the Old Testament.

What is my point? Man trying to play God is a bad thing, look what happened last time! Now that I am preaching, look at the simularities of “then” and now; Man is trying to play God, Man has forgotten that God is the Creator (global warming, endagered species, etc) and here is a biggie, remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Parents used to be in charge of their families, they also used to stay together, it is no wonder that issues like global warming, endagered species, and gay marriage, to name but a few, are even “accepted” as legitimate, by anyone. Please forgive us God, we are all dumb-asses!

Hey, count me in! Read this post at MichelleMalkin.com, I am still in shock that the very people that were complaining about how much money Bush spent, just spent even more! I agree that Bush spent way too much, but Porkulus is ridiculous! We the People have been duped again! It is time that we stand up and are heard! NO MORE SPENDING! As is stated on MichelleMalkin.com

There should be one of these in every town in America.

I live in Somerville, Texas, if anyone knows of a protest like this nearby, let me know! Not being a lefty, protests and such are a bit out of my normal way of thinking, but hey, maybe it is time for the rest of us to be heard! Maybe it is time for another Boston Tea Party?

Hey, I wouldn’t be so upset, if Obama had done as he said, and posted it for people to read, 5 days before the vote! Instead, not even the idiots that voted got to read it! Can you imagine signing up for anything without reading it? Sorry, I can’t!

Left or Right, is it all about Perspective?

I think I am starting to understand what is wrong with people, yes, all of us, myself included. I am finding that it just depends on which side of the fence you live on, where you are in life, what you want out of life, and, what you are willing to sacrifice to get there.

If you grow up in a conservative family, a liberal family, a family with money, a family with even modest means, you are going to see things completely different that someone who grows up on welfare, right? As I see it, the person that grows up having everything and the person without, have entirely different perspectives, one side of the fence is painted, one is bare.

I am not a Republican, but I am definitely not a Democrat, as I have written before, I am just to the right of the middle, and I believe that most Americans are that way, either a little left or right of center. This said, why can’t we agree? One word, Perspective.

I believe that the goal for ALL Americans should be the same, to better their standing in life, to EARN more, and to HELP others to earn more, I do not believe that anyone should get a FREE RIDE! I do believe that those that have, should help those that do not, but, it should be by choice, not a new law or tax that forces one to give. Remember any big crisis, Katrina, 9/11, the Tsunami, whatever, Americanas always give what they can, to help!

Those that can’t work of course need help, the elderly, the sick, and so on, but, those that are physically able do not need an excuse, an incentive to not try and improve their situation.

Here is another perspective, if you grew up on welfare, you were always taught that welfare was a way of life, that the only way to get what you want or need is to find new ways to work the system, someone like that sees things way differently. Then of course you have that spoiled rotten rich kid, the guy that gets everything and appreciates nothing, believe it or not, I see more similarities between these two than do I see differences, yep, neither one wants to work!

So, how does this all work out? Who pays what? Well, of course it depends on how much you make, but if you are like me, at the bottom of the heap, you really cannot complain, so, why is it that the Democrats always talk so bad about the rich folks not paying enough?

Take a look at the next image, maybe that will help you see things, from a different perspective?

If you will notice, those of us at the bottom do not have much CHANGE ahead, only those that have done better in life, those that have been “successful” will now be penalized for having done so.

If you “forcefully” take away from one group, to give to another, that is just wrong. Americans are the most generous people on the planet, look at the donations to the Tsunami victims, Katrina, 9/11, and so on, if you take away from those that voluntarily give, will they be as generous?  By imposing penalties for success, and prizes for failure, what kind of message are we sending to the kids? Will the next generation say hey, why try, I can just sit back and get paid, why bother with Law School? At the same time, if you make it easy for anyone and everyone to go to college, what keeps the more qualified from reaching the top? I look at it this way, if you see what is happening in our public schools, the teachers are spread too thin, there are too many kids that just don’t care, that do not work as hard and frankly, just are not as smart, should we hold back the smart kids, the ones that are willing to sacrifice and work hard, just to help the others that will not? If the incentive to succeed is removed, then everyone will be wanting a handout!

There are always exceptions to every rule, that is what proves the rule to be true, but by turning the country into a Socialist society, all we do is change everyone’s perspective to the same view, that is just “Un-American”. The very thing that makes America great is that we have a different perspective than the rest of the world, we see that if you work extra hard, you can get to the top, what will happen to America if the top means that we are all the same? There is a reason that Doctors and Lawyers have nicer homes than butchers or janitors, there is a reason that business owners make more money than their employees, if we all turn into robots, waiting on government to solve our problems, all we will ever have, is problems!

All Star Weekend: Who decided?

Are you an NBA fan? I am, I love watching the Houston Rockets and the All Star Weekend is always good. So, yes, I am a fan, but, do all of these players deserve to be there? Are there not players that get “left out” that should be there? Well, I am sure that everybody knows of a player that they feel should be there, but isn’t, so, why are they not there? Who decided?

First you have to look at what it is all about, Money! No, it is not about the game of basketball, it is all about Money! I don’t remember when it starts, but you and me and everybody else gets to vote for their favorite players, if the player is not on the list, well, too bad, but why are there only select players and not every player? I am sure that it is just to keep it simple, too many choices would make a big mess, so to speak. With a limited selection, it narrows down the finalists from the very first vote, and, after all, the fans are stupid, dumb, clueless, or whatever it is that Charles Barkley says, and I have to admit, I agree with him.

If you take the fact that the fans are “clueless”, and add that to “how do we make more money” mix all that up with “hype”, what do you get? Think about it, the commercials during the NBA games are already promoting the finals, the all-star games, and everything else that those with the money want you to focus on, and what is that you ask? They want you to spend your money! We buy jersies, T-shirts, tickets, and the biggie, Season Tickets, because of the hype! I have to also say this, the only reason I am even watching TNT is because of the All-Star Weekend, since Charles Barkley isn’t there, the regular show has gone to heck and I won’t watch it! I have tried, but first off, it has become the East Coast NBA channel, only the select few from the West are even shown, I guess thats ok if you aren’t a fan of the West. Second, Barkley was funny, entertaining to say the least, the way the show is now, somebody better rescue that poor white guy, he sticks out like a sore thumb, he has lost control of the show, get him out of there, he is not just too old, but he is too white, to hang out with everybody else, he just doesn’t fit in, I mean it is either that or find a couple of ex-players that are other than black. Nothing against the black guys, don’t get me wrong, they just need to be a bit more diverse, the guys on there now just get to carried away with themselves, Barkley somehow kept them all in check.

The $1,000,000,000,000 Mistake

	(Washington D.C.)- {For a time when the nation is full of talk of change, the Democrat leadership in Washington seems committed to repeating the mistakes of the past. The so-called stimulus package presented to us this week is no stimulus at all. In reality, it’s a Trojan Horse for billions of dollars in pork barrel spending. Democrats have said repeatedly that there is not a single earmark in this bill. In fact, the stimulus bill itself is one giant earmark, a massive collection of unnecessary spending, pet projects, and kickbacks to well-heeled contributors. While I do support some provisions of the bill such as the tax relief and investments in infrastructure, only 17% of this $1 trillion bill provides new tax relief and less than 10% provides new roads and bridges. This economic crisis demands leadership. It demands immediate tax relief for working families, and help for America’s small businesses, giving them the funds they need to stop the layoffs and hire more employees. It demands that we stabilize home values, and yes, give assistance to the unemployed. All these goals are fulfilled in an alternative plan that I support, but to which the Democrats gave little consideration. We cannot spend our way out of debt. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says that long-term, this package will do more harm than good. And the President’s own analysts and economic advisors say the Republican plan, which institutes long-term, meaningful tax cuts for individuals and small businesses, will create twice as many jobs for half the cost of the stimulus package. According to their calculations, this alternative stimulus would create an estimated 490,000 jobs in Texas, compared to only 204,000 in the final bill. At a critical moment in America’s history – when our nation desperately needs strong, principled leadership – Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are bent on taking advantage of this crisis and manipulating the fears of American taxpayers to their own ends. Instead of creating jobs, they’re focused on pushing through massive overreaches of government. Consider Welfare spending. One measure in the bill seeks to take limits off of Welfare spending that President Clinton imposed 12 years ago. University of Texas professor and former assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Benjamin Sasse, explains that, “Through a little noticed provision of the stimulus package that has passed the House of Representatives, the bill creates a fund that is open-ended.” Sasse explains the provision would essentially remove the five year limit on federal benefits and jeopardize the requirement that recipients begin working after two years of government support. The stimulus package also includes a step toward government-run healthcare. It creates a new entity of bureaucratic oversight, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, to monitor your treatments. Thanks to this stimulus package, government will be looking over the shoulder of your doctor, preventing him from giving you any treatment they deem “not cost-effective.” How does putting a bureaucrat in Washington in charge of your health care stimulate the economy? How does it create jobs to roll back welfare reform, unleashing an endless stream of government handouts? Perhaps my favorite line item in this stimulus package is for $300 million to purchase golf carts. Something’s wrong with this picture when an economic stimulus package includes $300 million of hard-earned taxpayer money for buying $40,000 apiece golf carts. No one seems to know where they’ll even be used! In times of crisis, history should be our guide. It’s worth remembering an old statement from Henry Morgenthau Jr., the famous Treasury Secretary under President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression, who confessed, “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before, and it does not work.” Printing money we don’t have will only result in inflation thereby increasing interest rates on credit card purchases and home mortgages. Spending the equivalent of a million dollars a day for the next three thousand years is not a solution, and it is not leadership to saddle our children with the cost of our poor decisions. It’s time to get Americans working again, and working for themselves – not for paying off the salaries of more bureaucrats and the costs of pork barrel spending. Socialism: Why is this bad for America?

For those of you that do not “Get It”, socialism is where control of your life, your business, your family, and everything else, is taken away from you and given to the government. Socialism always starts out looking like a nice thing, Free Stuff for Everybody! Welfare for all!  However, somebody has to pay for it!

I am sure that everyone has seen that the government CANNOT be trusted to spend money wisely, look at what happened with the TARP program, you know, the first wave of the bailouts, they have already “misplaced” $78 Billion! Had this program been handled the way it was said that they would, this money would now be helping things in the housing market, did it work? Obviously not, now they want more! So, where were you on the first one? Did you agree with it? Did it do you any good? Now, “President” Obama is trying to get a new spending bill shoved through the system, under the guise “Stimulous”, even Obama himself has called it a spending plan! So, why should We the People, let the government spend another Trillion or two, or three, or whatever it ends up being? We shouldn’t!

What is the plan? Well, at this point, Obama’s idea is to create jobs through re-building the infrastructure, you know, old government buildings, roads, bridges, and so on, sounds good right? Have you ever noticed who is doing the construction work? I don’t know about where you live, but here in Texas, you don’t see too many Americans actually doing the work, so, who will this help?

Here is another part, Obama is going to make the Unions have even more power, you know who runs the unions, right? So, if you combine Unions, and labor jobs, to get this “job” you will have to join a union! I have seen what happens when they are in charge, the cost of the job is more than double what the private sector could do the work for, that sounds wasteful to me. Does the $700 hammer come to mind yet? I thank God I live in Texas, those Pro Union states will be the one that waste the most money!

Back to the main topic, socialism, these union jobs are a perfect example of socialism at its best, in order to get these jobs, you must pay an additional tax, called “Union Dues”, since I am not in a union, I don’t know what the percentage is, but I do know it is like paying double the FICA tax you already pay! Now, lets look at this from the consumer side, do you know how much “extra” a car costs you because of the union? Well, the last I read, there is an addition $1000, just to cover the health care costs of the workers! Think about this, how many cars are built each day? Lets just say it is one car per employee average, that is what $30,000 a month, per employee,  just for health care! Here in Texas, you can get health insurance for a whole family for maybe $600, per month! See where I am headed? It is called waste!

I lived in Germany for almost 10 years, and at that time, I paid 10% of my gross pay for health insurance, a couple of years ago, my daughter, who lives there, told me it was up to 15%, then, she will be here in a few days and I will ask again what it is now, but regardless, 15% of your paycheck gone for insurance, that doesn’t sound bad if you only make a couple of bucks a month, but, this is per person, so, if you are married, husband and wife pay 15% each. What this boils down to, is myself and my ex, together were paying between 6-800 per month at 10%, at 15%, that would be 9-1200, per month, and yes, I was in my 20′s then! This is just for health insurance, the income tax is astronomical as well!

Once the government has control of everything, do you think prices will go down? Look at Luftansa airlines, owned by the German Government, to fly with them it costs double or triple the rate of an american airline like Delta, once the government bails out the airlines, who will be able to fly? What will happen to the cost of a new car? What about a government owned home? Is socialism sounding like a good thing? America is supposed to be free, the right to life, liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness and all of that right? As Glenn Beck has pointed out, the pursuit of happiness is not a guarantee of happiness, just the right to pursue it! We all have different levels of skill, intelligence, and ability, should the person who can earn millions be responible to pay for people like me that don’t? There is no such thing as a free ride, and if your boss has to pay more, just to have you as an employee, will you be the one he has to get rid of, to pay for keeping someone else? Remember, it is the dead weight that goes first, if you want a free ride, are you a productive employee?

Maybe you noticed, all of the big layoffs started when it became obvious that Obama would win, these companies were just getting ready for what was coming! Once you add in all of the Welfare and Entitlements, this country will be like France, in other words, a really big mess! Since it is these companies that pay the most in taxes, what else can they do?

Tax cuts are the answer, not more spending, if you are in debt and cannot pay your credit cards, do you go out and buy a new car? I don’t think so, but that is what this spending bill amounts to! If your neighbor does this, should you make his or her car payment? Well, that is what is coming, welcome to socialism!

If Obama gets his spending bill passed, and I am sure that he will, this country will be in debt at the tune of $37,000, per person, per year, are you ready to write that check? With the government bailing out, or buying, private companies, increasing entitlements, not just social security, but welfare as well, what will this do? Just get out that checkbook and don’t worry about it, the government will fix it, with your money!

Oh, I almost forgot, remember that tax cut for 95% of Americans? Well, I hope you enjoy that extra $13 on your paycheck!
