dunce 68x110 Who would you hire, the one that is Smart or the other one?Now I know what is wrong with this country, we are too smart! I just found an article on RightWingNews.com that proves what I am saying! Well, if you watch this video, from that article, and believe it, then America has a problem, we are too smart! Follow the link to We Need To Redefine Merit and read that article, this is the basis for my opinion here, although my opinion, as usual, goes into this subject with a bit more of a critical attitude , read that article, watch the video, then read on……..

Ok, this Professor Guinier, is basically saying that diversity is better than intelligence. Intelligence, which one aquires from studying, not from having a rich family, should be the basis for hiring someone, but, she is saying that a person that only managed to retain a small portion of the subject material that was covered in the test, is just as, or more qualified because it was different from what the others had answered? Is she kidding? That would be the same as picking the one that only got one answer right, but it was the one answer that everyone that scored 9 of 10 got wrong, I would call it a lucky guess, not a sign of diversity! I imagine she would see that person as a genious?

I don’t know about now, but when I was in school, scoring a 70, or 7 out of 10 as she stated, was a C, and if the person at the top of the group tested, only managed a C, I feel that all of the teachers should be fired! If the person that made a 50, or 5 out of 10, an F, would be who she picked, for diversity’s sake, then this highlights an even bigger problem. Since Professor Guinier is a professor, it makes me wonder just how she grades her students, what kind of curve does she use? If she is failing the kids that do the best on the test, for diversity’s sake, then she should be removed, and so should any teacher, or professor, that cannot teach well enough that at least 80% of the class score a 90 , a B,or better! This 80% of the class passing would be the teacher getting a B on their ability to teach!

When I was a kid, the kids that scored less than a B got picked on by the ones that did better, individual responsibility was backed up by peer pressure, it was a matter of pride! What happens when you remove the rewards from life and make it ok to fail a test, yet still pass? Everybody becomes “the same”, no one is any “better” than anyone else, is that diversity? Is this the goal of the progressive liberals? What a concept, what a terrible future for our country, is this what you want your kids to learn?

Americans used to try and be the best, what happened? First, I guess you need to take Professor Guinier’s audience into account, she is basically telling a group of people that just happen to be part of a group that doesn’t, as a “group” do as well on the affore mentioned test, is that because “they” are less capable? No! All people, all colors, red, blue, green, whatever, should be “expected” to pass the same test, what the heck could race have to do with a test? Sorry, I am old, so, the test she is referring to, I have never seen, but, when I went to school, ALL of the kids got the same books, had the same teachers, and of course took the same test!

Her saying that the ones that pass the test have rich families, I take as an insult, not to just me, but to any and everyone, that was NOT rich, yet managed to study and pass a test! This Professor Guinier even knocked Obama around because he obviously passed a few tests himself, one time I have admit Obama did something right, he passed!

I am sorry, not everyone is as “smart” as everyone else, but, if you are in a classroom, regardless of the subject being taught, then you should be able to learn enough to at least get a 7 out of ten score, heck, that means that you didn’t know 30% of the answers!  If you cannot pass a certain subject, then you need to focus on another! Could you imagine the NBA with a bunch of short, fat, old, white guys, just for the sake of diversity? I don’t think so!

Yes, diversity is important, very important, but, diversity happens naturally, not everyone can be a lawyer, a mechanic, a computer geek, a brain surgeon, or an NBA player, or whatever, nor do we all desire to be, we all have to learn what our strengths are and focus on them, but, if everybody gets the same scores on everything they do, just for the sake of “fairness” , and no one is better at anything than anyone else, this will take us down the wrong road, an ugly road, a road where “The People” actually want everyone to be the same, one where we elect someone that promises to take care of everything because we are no longer rewarded for competing to be the best and take care of ourselves , a road where a dictator takes over and ….hmm
