The Government vs The People, you decide!

Here we are, waiting for President Obama to give his first State of the Union speech, and I expect it to be another of his me, me, me, lectures, about how he and the Government can solve or have already solved all of our problems but we are just too stupid to notice it. If I hear him blame President Bush one more time my head is going to explode!

The government is not the answer it is the problem, only President Reagan said it, and it is the truth, and the people are finally standing up and putting their votes where their mouths are! Look at what Massachusetts did, talk about a slap in the face! I bet ole Teddy is rolling in his grave! He and the rest of the progressive liberals just knew this was the way to government control, but even the people of the most liberal state in the union have said that is enough!

I expect to hear Obama talk about how wonderful he is, and how much the American people suck, and how he will fix everything no matter how bad Bush screwed it up! Of course he is going to seem to move more to the center, but it will all be lies, just as usual. This year is going to be an upsetting time for those socialist bastards that want to take us over and ruin our way of life, because now that our eyes have been opened, we shall vote them out, each and every one of them! Regardless of what lies Obama spews tonight, We The People, will overcome!

Pay close attention to what the “Chosen One” says,  it will be nothing but a regurgitation of the same crap the progressives always spew! His spending freeze is a joke, he increased the spending, and now wants to lock it in so it cannot be cut! Obama talks out of both sides of his neck, the progressives will stand up and cheer, but the rest of us should see through the lies, it is nothing but a bunch of crap! Just another way to try to take over the country and turn us into something we are not and do not want to be! Who do you want to be in control, We the People, or, the Government?

Dear Friends,

This week, millions of hard-working Americans filed their taxes and joined together to protest our nation’s tax burden, a reminder of just how much of their hard-earned money goes to Washington.

During these challenging economic times, our nation’s families and small businesses are struggling to make ends meet. As a result, Americans are paying higher taxes to offset out-of-control government spending. The American people know we can’t spend and tax our way back to a growing economy.

In order to create and maintain long-term economic growth, Congress must put politics aside and protect the American taxpayer.

I continue to support a budget that provides $1.2 trillion in tax relief. It also includes provisions to end bailouts, reduce non-defense discretionary spending, and tackle health entitlements, reducing the national debt by more than $6 trillion.

BORDER SECURITY

When I return to Washington next week I will be introducing legislation to increase funding and resources to secure the border, combat violence from Mexican drug cartels, and better enforce existing immigration laws.  I will be touring a part of the border early next week to get a first-hand account of the situation.

DISTRICT EVENTS

I’m going back to Washington energized by so many people who participated in events across the country and in the 10^th District this week.  Together we are sending a resounding message to the Obama administration that we will not tolerate record spending, debt and higher taxes.

Dear David,Vice President Joe Biden said during the 2008 campaign that it is patriotic for Americans to pay more in taxes. Since taking over control of Washington, the Obama Democrats have decided we should all be more “patriotic” having passed or proposed more than $5 trillion in new spending and $1.4 trillion in new taxes.

I don’t know about you, David, but I don’t believe there is anything patriotic about giving more of your hard-earned money to the government to bankroll the liberal Democrats’ agenda to increase spending to record levels, change the tax code to redistribute the wealth of working families, and destroy the savings of millions of middle-class Americans.

So on this Tax Day, April 15, the Republican National Committee is asking you, along with hundreds of thousands of grassroots activists across our country, to assert a real patriotic act by sending a virtual tea bag to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the tax, spend and borrow Democrats. Let them know enough is enough and you don’t approve of their plan to pass the largest tax hike in American history.

Dear Friends,

This week I continued to stand up for the taxpayers in my district by voting against President Obama’s and Speaker Pelosi’s $3 trillion a year budget.  Unfortunately, it passed.  Over the next five years it will double the national debt.  Over ten years it will triple our debt and raise taxes by $1.4 trillion.  I encourage you to visit my new website, where you can see how quickly our debt is adding up, and view my speech on the House floor before yesterday’s vote.

I voted for an alternative to this massive spending bill called The Path to American Prosperity.  It’s a blueprint for economic recovery that keeps spending and debt under control, keeps taxes low, and still addresses the country’s core needs.  The Republican plan:

• Spends $4.8 trillion less than the Democrats’ budget over 10 years
• Brings spending back down to 20.7% of GDP, in line with the historical average, instead of climbing to 24.5% of GDP as proposed in the Obama budget
• Freezes non-defense/non-veterans spending, instead of increasing non-defense spending by more than 9% as proposed in the Obama budget
• Borrows $3.6 trillion less than the Obama budget over 10 years
• Increases the Defense budget by $5 billion over the cuts in the Obama budget
• Increases Veterans funding by $540 million over the President’s budget
• Institutes pro-growth tax cuts instead of $1.5 trillion in tax increases on small businesses and families as proposed in the Obama budget
• Creates 2.1 million more Jobs than the Democrats’ Budget
• Suspends capital gains taxes through 2010 instead of increasing taxes on investment
• Institutes needed entitlement reforms to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare

Finally, someone is going to stand up to Iran!

Benjamin Netanyahu has let it be known that he is not going to allow Iran to get nukes! Netanyahu has also put the ball in  Barack Obama’s court, basically stating, Stop Iran or I will. I have been waiting on this for a long time now, Netanyahu is just about the only leader in the world, and he was just sworn in, that has the balls to stand up to this crazy, extremist, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, or Ahmad-the-nutjob as I call him, and, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei .

We all know that the U.S. is having financial problems, the whole world is, and Obama’s spending spree has made it even worse, but someone has got to do something to stop Iran from getting nukes, otherwise, our financial problems will seem trivial compared to the threat of a nuclear Iran!

I especially like this quote from Netanyahu, “You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.” This pretty much puts it all into perspective, or at least it should.

For those that are of the belief, “Peace at all costs”, all I can say is, cover you eyes and ears and stick your head in the sand if you want, but someone must stand up to these evil monsters in the world. Don’t be scared. I say to Benjamin Netanyahu, “Do what you have to do, since America has been emasculated, a self inflicted injury, by electing an ultra liberal, entitlement funding, fiscally irresponsible, and basically spineless government, somebody has to do what is needed!” I mean come on, changing “The War on Terror” to “Overseas Contingency Operation” and “Terrorism” to “man-caused disasters”, is that weak or what? Thank God there is still one “leader” left in the world!

California is Broke! Is this new or has it been a long time coming?

I find it almost amusing, state after state, business after business, all of them broke! Why is it amusing? Hey, when you spend more than you make, what happens? When you have ultra liberal spending policies, for decades, what happens? When you get a new, spendaholic liberal president, and the handout line is forming, what do ya do? Get in line thats what!

Read the articlle on CNN.com California to lay off 20,000 if budget deal isn’t reached, all of this and more, has been building for a long, long time, but now that Uncle Obama is handing out the cash, everybody wantys some!

Go ahead, try and blame Bush and the Republicans, but look into it, you will see that this is just a snowball reaching its potential at the bottom of the hill! What needs to happen, is these liberal governments need to layoff about 75% of the employees that are just there to suck on the government tit anyway, good riddence I say! In the real world, government type benefits would be wasteful spending, if the government cant function as it is, how the heck are they supposed to run everything? By doubling, or tripling in size, Fedzilla will only get worse! I say lay them off, lay off 95% of Washington too! Let the natural order of things take care of it!

The $1,000,000,000,000 Mistake

	For Immediate Release February 13, 2009 The $1,000,000,000,000 Mistake By Congressman Michael McCaul
	(Washington D.C.)- {For a time when the nation is full of talk of change, the Democrat leadership in Washington seems committed to repeating the mistakes of the past. The so-called stimulus package presented to us this week is no stimulus at all. In reality, it’s a Trojan Horse for billions of dollars in pork barrel spending. Democrats have said repeatedly that there is not a single earmark in this bill. In fact, the stimulus bill itself is one giant earmark, a massive collection of unnecessary spending, pet projects, and kickbacks to well-heeled contributors. While I do support some provisions of the bill such as the tax relief and investments in infrastructure, only 17% of this $1 trillion bill provides new tax relief and less than 10% provides new roads and bridges. This economic crisis demands leadership. It demands immediate tax relief for working families, and help for America’s small businesses, giving them the funds they need to stop the layoffs and hire more employees. It demands that we stabilize home values, and yes, give assistance to the unemployed. All these goals are fulfilled in an alternative plan that I support, but to which the Democrats gave little consideration. We cannot spend our way out of debt. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says that long-term, this package will do more harm than good. And the President’s own analysts and economic advisors say the Republican plan, which institutes long-term, meaningful tax cuts for individuals and small businesses, will create twice as many jobs for half the cost of the stimulus package. According to their calculations, this alternative stimulus would create an estimated 490,000 jobs in Texas, compared to only 204,000 in the final bill. At a critical moment in America’s history – when our nation desperately needs strong, principled leadership – Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are bent on taking advantage of this crisis and manipulating the fears of American taxpayers to their own ends. Instead of creating jobs, they’re focused on pushing through massive overreaches of government. Consider Welfare spending. One measure in the bill seeks to take limits off of Welfare spending that President Clinton imposed 12 years ago. University of Texas professor and former assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Benjamin Sasse, explains that, “Through a little noticed provision of the stimulus package that has passed the House of Representatives, the bill creates a fund that is open-ended.” Sasse explains the provision would essentially remove the five year limit on federal benefits and jeopardize the requirement that recipients begin working after two years of government support. The stimulus package also includes a step toward government-run healthcare. It creates a new entity of bureaucratic oversight, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, to monitor your treatments. Thanks to this stimulus package, government will be looking over the shoulder of your doctor, preventing him from giving you any treatment they deem “not cost-effective.” How does putting a bureaucrat in Washington in charge of your health care stimulate the economy? How does it create jobs to roll back welfare reform, unleashing an endless stream of government handouts? Perhaps my favorite line item in this stimulus package is for $300 million to purchase golf carts. Something’s wrong with this picture when an economic stimulus package includes $300 million of hard-earned taxpayer money for buying $40,000 apiece golf carts. No one seems to know where they’ll even be used! In times of crisis, history should be our guide. It’s worth remembering an old statement from Henry Morgenthau Jr., the famous Treasury Secretary under President Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression, who confessed, “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before, and it does not work.” Printing money we don’t have will only result in inflation thereby increasing interest rates on credit card purchases and home mortgages. Spending the equivalent of a million dollars a day for the next three thousand years is not a solution, and it is not leadership to saddle our children with the cost of our poor decisions. It’s time to get Americans working again, and working for themselves – not for paying off the salaries of more bureaucrats and the costs of pork barrel spending. Porkulous and Palosi: Why the Spending bill is in a hurry!

You may not have heard about this, do you know why it is ok for them to push the new bill through, thus breaking a rule they just set? Nancy Palosi is going to meet the Pope! This is unbelievable, first, they set a rule that allowed 48 hours to read the 1500 or so page Porkulous Spending Bill, then, blew that off and started the ball rolling, just because they don’t want to wait 8 days for the Fuhrer, I mean Speaker to get back from the Vatican, is she Catholic? I mean come on, this Bill is so full of things that nobody knows about, if they wait until it gets read, only the far left will vote for it!

From Palosi’s Rat or Mouse or whatever crap, to gun control and health care, things like this have been stuffed into this thing and nobody knows about it! Is this the kind of CHANGE you expected? Well, in my case, yes, I knew it would happen. Does anyone else out there have a problem with this? Now, they are evn having to wait for the 60th vote! They are keeping the vote open until 10:30pm so a straggler has time to fly in for the vote! Like isn’t that his job? I think he went to a funeral or something, sorry, I don’t see that as an excuse, work comes first, especially when it involves the country! I am just fed up with government, it is just too big!

Socialism: Why is this bad for America?

For those of you that do not “Get It”, socialism is where control of your life, your business, your family, and everything else, is taken away from you and given to the government. Socialism always starts out looking like a nice thing, Free Stuff for Everybody! Welfare for all!  However, somebody has to pay for it!

I am sure that everyone has seen that the government CANNOT be trusted to spend money wisely, look at what happened with the TARP program, you know, the first wave of the bailouts, they have already “misplaced” $78 Billion! Had this program been handled the way it was said that they would, this money would now be helping things in the housing market, did it work? Obviously not, now they want more! So, where were you on the first one? Did you agree with it? Did it do you any good? Now, “President” Obama is trying to get a new spending bill shoved through the system, under the guise “Stimulous”, even Obama himself has called it a spending plan! So, why should We the People, let the government spend another Trillion or two, or three, or whatever it ends up being? We shouldn’t!

What is the plan? Well, at this point, Obama’s idea is to create jobs through re-building the infrastructure, you know, old government buildings, roads, bridges, and so on, sounds good right? Have you ever noticed who is doing the construction work? I don’t know about where you live, but here in Texas, you don’t see too many Americans actually doing the work, so, who will this help?

Here is another part, Obama is going to make the Unions have even more power, you know who runs the unions, right? So, if you combine Unions, and labor jobs, to get this “job” you will have to join a union! I have seen what happens when they are in charge, the cost of the job is more than double what the private sector could do the work for, that sounds wasteful to me. Does the $700 hammer come to mind yet? I thank God I live in Texas, those Pro Union states will be the one that waste the most money!

Back to the main topic, socialism, these union jobs are a perfect example of socialism at its best, in order to get these jobs, you must pay an additional tax, called “Union Dues”, since I am not in a union, I don’t know what the percentage is, but I do know it is like paying double the FICA tax you already pay! Now, lets look at this from the consumer side, do you know how much “extra” a car costs you because of the union? Well, the last I read, there is an addition $1000, just to cover the health care costs of the workers! Think about this, how many cars are built each day? Lets just say it is one car per employee average, that is what $30,000 a month, per employee,  just for health care! Here in Texas, you can get health insurance for a whole family for maybe $600, per month! See where I am headed? It is called waste!

I lived in Germany for almost 10 years, and at that time, I paid 10% of my gross pay for health insurance, a couple of years ago, my daughter, who lives there, told me it was up to 15%, then, she will be here in a few days and I will ask again what it is now, but regardless, 15% of your paycheck gone for insurance, that doesn’t sound bad if you only make a couple of bucks a month, but, this is per person, so, if you are married, husband and wife pay 15% each. What this boils down to, is myself and my ex, together were paying between 6-800 per month at 10%, at 15%, that would be 9-1200, per month, and yes, I was in my 20′s then! This is just for health insurance, the income tax is astronomical as well!

Once the government has control of everything, do you think prices will go down? Look at Luftansa airlines, owned by the German Government, to fly with them it costs double or triple the rate of an american airline like Delta, once the government bails out the airlines, who will be able to fly? What will happen to the cost of a new car? What about a government owned home? Is socialism sounding like a good thing? America is supposed to be free, the right to life, liberty, justice and the pursuit of happiness and all of that right? As Glenn Beck has pointed out, the pursuit of happiness is not a guarantee of happiness, just the right to pursue it! We all have different levels of skill, intelligence, and ability, should the person who can earn millions be responible to pay for people like me that don’t? There is no such thing as a free ride, and if your boss has to pay more, just to have you as an employee, will you be the one he has to get rid of, to pay for keeping someone else? Remember, it is the dead weight that goes first, if you want a free ride, are you a productive employee?

Maybe you noticed, all of the big layoffs started when it became obvious that Obama would win, these companies were just getting ready for what was coming! Once you add in all of the Welfare and Entitlements, this country will be like France, in other words, a really big mess! Since it is these companies that pay the most in taxes, what else can they do?

Tax cuts are the answer, not more spending, if you are in debt and cannot pay your credit cards, do you go out and buy a new car? I don’t think so, but that is what this spending bill amounts to! If your neighbor does this, should you make his or her car payment? Well, that is what is coming, welcome to socialism!

If Obama gets his spending bill passed, and I am sure that he will, this country will be in debt at the tune of $37,000, per person, per year, are you ready to write that check? With the government bailing out, or buying, private companies, increasing entitlements, not just social security, but welfare as well, what will this do? Just get out that checkbook and don’t worry about it, the government will fix it, with your money!

Oh, I almost forgot, remember that tax cut for 95% of Americans? Well, I hope you enjoy that extra $13 on your paycheck!
