An email from Michael McCaul 4/3

Dear Friends,
This week I continued to stand up for the taxpayers in my district by voting against President Obama’s and Speaker Pelosi’s $3 trillion a year budget. Unfortunately, it passed. Over the next five years it will double the national debt. Over ten years it will triple our debt and raise taxes by $1.4 trillion. I encourage you to visit my new website, where you can see how quickly our debt is adding up, and view my speech on the House floor before yesterday’s vote.
I voted for an alternative to this massive spending bill called The Path to American Prosperity. It’s a blueprint for economic recovery that keeps spending and debt under control, keeps taxes low, and still addresses the country’s core needs. The Republican plan:
- Spends $4.8 trillion less than the Democrats’ budget over 10 years
- Brings spending back down to 20.7% of GDP, in line with the historical average, instead of climbing to 24.5% of GDP as proposed in the Obama budget
- Freezes non-defense/non-veterans spending, instead of increasing non-defense spending by more than 9% as proposed in the Obama budget
- Borrows $3.6 trillion less than the Obama budget over 10 years
- Increases the Defense budget by $5 billion over the cuts in the Obama budget
- Increases Veterans funding by $540 million over the President’s budget
- Institutes pro-growth tax cuts instead of $1.5 trillion in tax increases on small businesses and families as proposed in the Obama budget
- Creates 2.1 million more Jobs than the Democrats’ Budget
- Suspends capital gains taxes through 2010 instead of increasing taxes on investment
- Institutes needed entitlement reforms to ensure the long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare
Today I am heading back home for the April District Work Period. Over the next two weeks I hope to see many of you as I travel the 10th District to discuss our economic situation, and continue to offer solutions.

The Fox Nation:A new Website for everyone!
March 30, 2009 by OpinionHead

I had heard rumors, but now it is official! TheFoxNation.com is a new site, and as of the time of this article, it is just over two hours old, and I have already posted about 5 comments! I have also written three articles here, and coincedentally, wrote about one topic found there, but got ideas for another, from there!
This looks like a very nice site, but, I have to think that somehow, Glenn Beck’s success with The912Project.com has an influence on this coming about! Hey, I am just sayin’, I think this is a good thing!
The site links to other sites, and the articles found there, and then you, me and everybody else can go and post out comments on these articles, hmm, kind of like this article, only no opinions! I have to say, the site is a very clean looking site, very neat and organized, the designers there did a great job! This said, it is almost “sterile” looking, if you know what I mean, but it is a beautiful website. I hope that everyone enjoys it, I know that I will!

Why did Texas refuse money from FedZilla?
March 30, 2009 by OpinionHead
Why did Texas tell Fedzilla thanks, but, no thanks? As it is, from my perspective, here in Texas, the polititians that you never hear about, are, invisible, because if you don’t hear any loud exchanges, there is no media coverage.
This is just wrong! I want everyone to know that I am not the only one that does not want anything from FedZilla except for what it is supposed to provide, as in The Constitution. Texas Governor, Rick Perry has declined the money from that Porkulus bill, why? Here is an excerpt from a video, found on the Governors website. (note that I would have the video here but it is not embeddable)
After careful review of the federal government’s stimulus package, Gov. Perry opted against the required expansion of the state’s unemployment insurance program, due to its long-term negative impact on the Texas economy
Here is a link to the site so that you can hear it yourself, there are also other audio messages that you can listen to. I am sorry that the rest of the world is having problems, but, if you visit Texas, you will not see the same issues, things are pretty good here actually, I am proud of Governor Perry for having the intelligence, and the guts, to Just Say No!
I am hoping to see him show up at one of the Tea Parties in Texas on April 15th, but I doubt that he will, although, that would be a fantastic political move for the next election! I have a feeling that the next elections are going to bring “Real” and drastic changes to our government, because from the signs at the tea parties, and all of the talk at The912Project.com, I can hardly wait!

We The People, what a concept! The 912 Project is for you!

To anyone that has not heard, I am sorry that I am so late in posting about this. I have been a Glenn Beck fan for quite some time, and when he moved to FoxNews, that was a perfect match, and has allowed his viewpoint a venue where it could flourish, and I must admit, I agree with him about 98.9% of the time, but now, Glenn Beck has launched a new website, THE912PROJECT.com.
I agree with Glenn that We the People need to stand up and take our country back! I agree with Glenn that that those of us, that believe in the principals of our founding fathers, should have our voices heard! Just as is the point and purpose of this website, for us all to share our Opinions and viewpoints!
I believe that if we all were to actually listen to each other, we would find that we are not that different, I myself fall into the “center right”, and I am sure that most Americans are somewhere in the center, maybe to the left of me, maybe to the right, but I do not think that “We The People” are the extreme fanatics that I am here ranting about!
If you feel that you are a “normal” American, as strange and awkward as we may be, visit the site, you will find out that you are not alone! It is time for us all to wake up and smell the coffee! It is not just Obama, he is but one, it is the whole liberal culture that is our problem, that is what is taking your freedoms away and trying to turn us all into socialist zombies! It is time to stand up and be heard! Watch this video! Then, join us, at THE912PROJECT.com, in case you are wondering if I have as loud a mouth there, as I do here, check out my profile. Oh, just as you must sign up with IntenseDebate here to post a comment, you must do the same there, it is a good thing, it allows you to keep up with the comments you post everywhere.

This plug-in will automatically add a link to the last post from the website you use when posting a comment! So, post some comments already!
You can find a link to the site where “Comment Luv” comes from in the Useful Links category. I use a lot of plug-ins on this site, and Comment Luv rates at the top of the list, I definitely recommend it to anyone that has a blog, it encourages visitors to post comments!
Of course it could also invite SPAM, but I feel it is worth a try! Akismet will catch most of that anyway and it helps everybody! What a wonderful thing!
